Short-term missions is a great way to both get out and see the rest of the world and to serve God at the same time.
These are some organizations to look into for taking a short term mission trip. These trips are not just for youth – as there is always a need for adults to go and help lead the teams.
Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this and future generations, to mobilizing as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission. As citizens of God’s kingdom, we are called to love, worship, and obey our Lord, to love and serve His body, the Church, and to love all peoples everywhere, which includes presenting the whole Gospel for the whole person throughout the whole world.
Asheville Dream Center’s mission is “to serve and love our city so that individuals and families are healed, restored, and empowered to live out God’s plan and purpose for their lives!” The Asheville Dream center is an outreach arm for churches and businesses to get involved in local missions. Their desire is to reach the community in meaningful ways, providing practical resources, and building relationships to share Christ with their neighbors. They are currently booking church groups to serve local communities in various ways.
